16mm hand painted film, seeing the world as if it were a coloring book
This video is a continuation of my explorations of mixing live action footage with animation. I first filmed on a Bolex camera and then used ink to paint onto the developed film strips. The beginning has more shots of recognizable things, filmed in a more abstract manner. I sought abstract, geometric shapes in the figural realm and colored them in. The video gets more abstract as it continues with just shapes and color at the end. This progression is broken up by occasional bursts of color (clear painted film), which are like scribbly style pencil marks on paper.
